OUR MISSION
This corporation is a nonprofit public benefit corporation organized exclusively for charitable and educational purposes under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. The specific purpose of this corporation is to bring together individuals and communities, uniting resources and networks to drive creativity, innovation, and success — one stampede at a time.
History Behind The Name
Everyone knows Craig Smith and his longtime nickname “Rhino,” embraced around the world for nearly 20 years. But when our founder set out to create this foundation, he wanted to do more than represent himself—he wanted to honor his late brother, whose last name was Taylor. One thing that will always stay with him is how his brother ended every call with the words, “Brothers forever.” Including his name in the foundation was the perfect way to keep that bond alive and carry his legacy forward.
Meet our Founder and CEO Craig Smith
🏀 About Craig "Rhino" Smith
Craig Smith is a proud native of Los Angeles and a graduate of Fairfax High School. He went on to attend Worcester Academy as a postgraduate before earning a full scholarship to Boston College, where he became a four-year starter. During his collegiate career, Craig received All-Big East, ACC, and All-American honors, and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology.
In 2006, Craig was selected by the Minnesota Timberwolves with the 36th overall pick in the NBA Draft, earning NBA All-Rookie honors in his first season. He continued his professional career with the Portland Trail Blazers and most notably, the Los Angeles Clippers. After the NBA, Craig played internationally in Israel and China, gaining a global perspective on the game and life.
Today, Craig continues to give back through multiple platforms. He is a:
- Community Ambassador for the LA Clippers
- Children’s book author (Craig and His Magical Basketball, Coloring with Craig: The Rhino’s Basketball Adventures)
- Motivational speaker for youth, schools, and organizations across the country
- Assistant coach at Crossroads School in Santa Monica
- Graduate of the NBPA’s Broadcaster U program
- Consultant to corporations, athletes, and emerging talent
Craig is a proud Fairfax High School and Boston College Hall of Famer, and remains deeply committed to empowering the next generation through mentorship, education, and storytelling.
As a kid growing up in inner-city Los Angeles, Craig always felt a deep desire to give back to his community. From a young age, he was determined to reach his dream of becoming an NBA player—and he did so through discipline, resilience, and hard work. That same drive to succeed fueled his passion for service, beginning with charitable work in high school and continuing ever since.
Today, Craig’s mission is to uplift the next generation by helping them believe in themselves, embrace their differences, and recognize that their uniqueness is their strength. He wants every young person to know: you can achieve anything you set your mind to. The more we inspire kids to find their purpose, the more we can build a better, brighter world together.
